Actress turns Iloilo market find into standout look with designer upgrade as diamond ring steals attention.
Actress Yassi Pressman proved that elegance doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag after turning a ₱1,000 vintage Filipiniana into one of the standout looks at this year’s State of the Nation Address (SONA).
The actress sourced the embroidered terno from the Iloilo City Market before collaborating with young Filipino designer Emanuel Riñoza to give the classic piece a contemporary makeover. While modernizing the silhouette, the pair carefully preserved the garment’s timeless charm and intricate embroidery.
The redesigned Filipiniana featured hand-sewn floral appliqués and delicate beadwork crafted from excess fabric, highlighting both Filipino craftsmanship and sustainable fashion.
Complementing the striking ensemble was Pressman’s dazzling diamond engagement ring, which also caught the attention of onlookers.
Ahead of the SONA, the actress made headlines after announcing her engagement to longtime boyfriend, Camarines Sur 2nd District Representative Luigi Villafuerte. The couple got engaged on July 18, 2026, during a romantic outdoor safari proposal, with photos and videos of the sunset candlelit moment shared on Instagram quickly going viral across social media.
