Baron Geisler says Sophia inherits acting genes from him, mom Nadia Montenegro

The actor beams with pride as daughter Sophia balances college and showbiz debut, saying her passion for acting “runs in the blood.”

As “Blood vs Duty” approaches its highly anticipated finale, Baron Geisler admitted that saying goodbye to the series has been an emotional experience.

The actor shared that, beyond the success of the ABS-CBN action drama, the friendships and support he received from the cast and crew made the project even more meaningful.

Aside from reflecting on the show’s conclusion, Baron also spoke proudly about another milestone in his life: his eldest daughter, Sophia Asistio, making her acting debut.

Sophia made her first acting appearance in the film “Bad Boy 3,” headlined by Robin Padilla. During the movie’s preview screening in June, mom Nadia Montenegro revealed that it was Robin who encouraged Sophia to join the project.

Baron said he is proud of how Sophia has been balancing her studies and her growing interest in acting.

“Ayun, first year college siya. She’s doing a good job. Maganda ang grades niya, and sideline niya lang ang pag-arte,” Baron said.

The actor believes Sophia inherited her passion for performing from both him and Nadia. “Siguro nasa dugo namin ni Nadia ang pag-arte kaya gifted po si Sophia.”

Baron also took the opportunity to express his love and admiration for his daughter. “Sophia, I’m very proud of you, and I love you.”

He added that they continue to keep in touch despite their schedules. “Actually, kahapon lang magka-text kami.”

Asked if he supports Sophia’s decision to enter show business, Baron gave a straightforward answer: “Opo.” While he supports her career, Baron stressed that finishing her education remains his top priority.

According to Baron, acting remains a part-time pursuit for Sophia as she continues her Business Management studies in college.

“Noong una, gusto ko mag-aral lang muna siya. Pero kung kaya niya ipagsabay, mas mag-focus muna sana siya sa pag-aaral. Business Management ang kinukuha niya, so dapat focused siya sa school muna.”

The actor spoke about his daughter during the finale media conference of #BloodVSDuty on Monday, July 13, at the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City, where he portrays SPO4 Felix Domingo.

Sophia recently made her red carpet debut alongside her father at the Preview Ball, drawing attention for her striking resemblance to Baron.

Following Nadia’s public confirmation that Baron is Sophia’s biological father, both families have gradually worked toward rebuilding their relationship. Since then, Baron and his wife have occasionally been seen spending time with Nadia’s family.
