Canon’s EOS C50 caters to multiple platforms, from films to social media content, appealing to a broad range of visual storytellers.

High-end, compact, and ready to roll. That’s how Canon describes its EOS C50, its smallest and lightest cinema camera yet. It’s designed to meet the needs of professional filmmakers and content creators in an era where one medium isn’t enough.

The EOS C50 delivers professional-grade footage with 7K 60p internal RAW recording and a 3:2 Open Gate, giving post-production flexibility and detailed slow-motion effects. Usually, this high-quality footage requires larger, more expensive cameras.

But the EOS C50’s compact, hand-held design lets creators record high-quality footage while staying mobile. It’s perfect for spontaneous, on-the-go shoots—because when inspiration strikes, you need to capture it hot.

Its Simultaneous Crop Recording feature also enables creators to produce footage suited for multiple platforms by generating 2K vertical and square versions in a single take. Priced at P189,998, the EOS C50 allows visual storytellers to connect with audiences across films, documentaries, social media content, or special occasions.

Pushing the boundaries of creative storytelling

The EOS C50 launched on December 3, with Filipino filmmakers, content creators, and other visual storytellers sharing insights on the future of local visual arts.

“Filipino filmmakers and content creators continue to push the boundaries of creative storytelling,” said Jian Liu, the Consumer Information and Imaging Director of Canon Marketing Philippines. “Regardless of format, their stories deserve cinema-quality production. We’ve packed cinema-grade technology into a camera built for versatility, so technical limitations don’t limit the stories that can be told.”

“Our mission is to empower every creator in the Philippines to tell their stories without compromise,” Anuj Aggarwal, President and CEO of Canon Marketing Philippines, said. “With the EOS C50, Canon continues to deliver professional tools that match the ambition and creativity of our local filmmaking community.”

Beyond its technical capabilities, the EOS C50 represents a chance for Filipino creators to amplify their voices. From indie filmmakers capturing raw, heartfelt stories to social media creators experimenting with fresh formats, the camera lowers barriers to high-quality production, letting more stories reach audiences with cinematic flair. It’s a tool that doesn’t just record images, but helps shape the future of Philippine storytelling.

The EOS C50 gives Filipino storytellers the freedom to create without limits, whether on the big screen or in the palm of their hand. By combining cinema-grade technology with mobility and versatility, it empowers creators to capture every fleeting idea, bold vision, and story that deserves to be told. For filmmakers and content creators, it’s more than a camera—it’s a partner in turning imagination into reality.
