Airline becomes Southeast Asia’s first low-cost carrier to offer the service, with high-speed inflight internet set to roll out in 2027.

Budget air travel is set for a major upgrade as Cebu Pacific prepares to bring SpaceX’s Starlink onboard its flights, putting high-speed internet within reach of millions of passengers and becoming Southeast Asia’s first low-cost airline to offer the service.

The rollout is expected to begin in 2027, bringing high-speed, low-latency Wi-Fi to Cebu Pacific aircraft. Passengers will be able to stream HD videos, join video calls, catch up on work, browse social media, and even play online games while in the air, giving budget travelers a level of connectivity once largely associated with full-service airlines.

The technology could prove especially useful for business travelers who need to stay productive between destinations, overseas Filipino workers keeping in touch with their families, and tourists who want to stay connected throughout their journey.

Starlink will also improve connectivity for flight crews and operational teams, helping Cebu Pacific strengthen day-to-day operations while giving employees more reliable communication during flights.

Cebu Pacific is introducing the service alongside fellow Indigo Partners portfolio airlines Frontier in the United States, Wizz Air in Europe, Volaris in Mexico, and JetSMART in South America. More than 1,000 aircraft across the group’s airlines are expected to receive Starlink.

Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao said introducing Starlink is another step toward delivering a better travel experience, allowing passengers to stay connected with loved ones, work, or entertainment while keeping the airline committed to making air travel accessible and affordable.
