Diesel jumps ₱7.32/L as fuel prices climb again on July 28

DOE projects another steep round of increases, pushing diesel and gasoline to higher average pump prices.

Another steep fuel price hike is coming on Tuesday, July 28, with diesel set to rise by ₱7.32 per liter in the latest round of pump price adjustments.

Based on the Department of Energy’s computation, gasoline is also expected to increase by ₱6.80 per liter, while kerosene will go up by ₱4.22 per liter.

As of press time, oil companies have yet to release their advisories to dealers. These are expected later today ahead of the scheduled 6 a.m. implementation on Tuesday.

If the Department of Energy’s computation is adopted, diesel will average around ₱85.91 per liter after the adjustment, up from around ₱78.59 currently. Gasoline, meanwhile, is projected to average around ₱87.38 per liter, from about ₱80.58 before the latest increase.

The latest adjustment follows last week’s hefty fuel price hike, extending the recent run of increases and keeping pump prices elevated for motorists and transport operators.
