“The Voice Kids” host shares how he and Marian Rivera support Zia’s growing love for music.

Actor Dingdong Dantes candidly shared his thoughts on whether his daughter, Zia, might someday join a singing competition and pursue a career in music.

The topic came up as Dingdong shared his thoughts on beginning another journey as the host of the upcoming season of “The Voice Kids” on GMA.

“Oo mahilig talaga siya sa music,” he happily shared on Friday during the media conference for the upcoming season of “The Voice Kids.”

While he remains open to the possibility of Zia joining a singing competition someday, Dingdong jokingly revealed that she might choose her mother, actress #MarianRivera, as her coach.

“Siguro kung gugustuhin man niyang sumali, siguro ang kukunin niyang coach ang nanay niya,”  quipped Dingdong, who is also dad to Zia’s brother Sixto.

For Dingdong, however, Zia’s love for music is something that he and Marian wholeheartedly support, especially as she continues to explore her musical interests in school.

“‘Yong mom niya talaga ang andiyan para samahan siya sa mga singing engagements niya sa school, at singing practice, so suportado talaga namin ang kaniyang love for music,” he said.

Dingdong also hopes that Zia will get the chance to meet the coaches of “The Voice Kids” and experience the competition behind the scenes.

“Pero I would love for her to meet our coaches, Coach Yeng (Constantino) and of course si Coach Gloc 9 kasi si Coach Julie Anne (San Jose) nakapag-jamming na sila,” he shared.

“One of these days, ang wish and hope ko makabisita siya para makita niya ang coaches as well as Ate Gabbi (Garcia),” he added.

Dingdong returns as the program host, while #GabbiGarcia steps in as the show’s journey host, taking viewers on an exclusive look at the personal stories of every aspiring artist.

While it remains to be seen whether Zia will eventually step onto a singing competition stage herself, one thing is clear: Dingdong and Marian are more than ready to support their daughter as she explores her love for music.

The search for the country’s ultimate young voice begins this September 13 as “The Voice Kids” returns for a brand-new season on GMA Network.
