Fuel prices move in mixed directions on June 16 as diesel, kerosene decline and gasoline rises

Diesel averages ₱86.68 per liter after rollback, while gasoline climbs to nearly ₱89 per liter in latest cycle.

Diesel is getting a nearly ₱4 per liter breather on Tuesday, June 16, as oil firms implement a fresh round of fuel price adjustments.

Gasoline, meanwhile, is moving in mixed directions, with a possible decrease of ₱0.32 per liter or an increase of up to ₱1.68 per liter depending on the product and brand. Kerosene is projected to decline by ₱0.50 to ₱2.50 per liter, as computed by the Department of Energy.

After the adjustment took effect, diesel is now averaging around ₱86.68 per liter, while gasoline is at around ₱88.93 per liter.

Oil firms released their advisories ahead of the adjustment.

Shell Pilipinas Corp. said its price changes, effective 6 a.m. on June 16, include a ₱3.71 per liter rollback for diesel, a ₱1.68 per liter increase for gasoline, and a ₱0.50 per liter rollback for kerosene.

Unioil also announced a ₱3.71 per liter rollback for Euro Diesel and a ₱1.68 per liter increase for its Euro Gasoline products.

Even with relief for diesel this week, fuel prices remain far from steady, with adjustments still moving in different directions across products and brands.
