Fuel prices roll back by more than ₱4/L on August 11

Diesel drops ₱4.30/L while gasoline and kerosene also post sizable price cuts.

Motorists are getting another sizable break at the pump on Tuesday, August 11, with diesel, gasoline, and kerosene prices all set to drop by more than ₱4 per liter.

Based on the Department of Energy’s computation, diesel prices will decline by ₱4.30 per liter, while gasoline will roll back by ₱4.70 per liter. Kerosene will see the biggest cut at ₱4.88 per liter.

Separate advisories from Shell Pilipinas Corp., Seaoil Philippines Inc., and Petro Gazz showed broadly similar adjustments, with Shell and Seaoil implementing a ₱4.30 per liter rollback for diesel and a ₱4.70 per liter cut for gasoline effective 6 a.m. on August 11. Shell will also cut kerosene by ₱4.90 per liter, while Seaoil will follow the DOE-computed ₱4.88 per liter rollback. Petro Gazz likewise announced ₱4.30 and ₱4.70 per liter rollbacks for diesel and gasoline, respectively.

After the adjustment takes effect, diesel is expected to average around ₱89.08 per liter, down from the current average of ₱93.38 per liter. Gasoline, meanwhile, is expected to average around ₱79.30 per liter, from the current ₱84.00 per liter.

The latest rollback comes after several weeks of sharp price increases, offering motorists a more meaningful reprieve at the pump. Still, fuel prices remain subject to the swings in global oil markets that have driven the recent run of volatile adjustments.
