Director Adolfo Alix Jr. honors the “long, challenging journey” of bringing the Ralston Jover-penned story to one of the world’s oldest film festivals.

The Filipino film “Pila” (Queue) is set to make its world premiere at the Moscow International Film Festival, scheduled from April 16 to 23, according to director Adolfo Alix Jr..

In a Facebook post, Alix shared his excitement over the milestone, writing, “Beyond honored that my film PILA (Queue), starring the iconic Gina Pareño will be having its World Premiere at the 48th Moscow International Film Festival this April 16 to 23.”

The director also expressed gratitude to his collaborators and producers, adding, “To God be the glory for this wonderful blessing!” and “To our producers: thank you for believing in this story even when they were just words on a page written by Ralston Jover, and for taking this long, challenging journey with us. This milestone belongs to you as much as it does to the rest of the team.”

Toplined by Pareño, Pila continues the Philippines’ strong showing in international festivals, with its selection highlighting the growing global interest in Filipino storytelling.

Alix also teased more developments for the film, ending his post with, “Another one to be announced soon…”
