Veteran actress Jean Garcia sits down with fellow screen villains like Gladys Reyes, Archie Alemania, and viral artist Boy Iyak in the new podcast launching this April.
Veteran actress Jean Garcia, long celebrated for her iconic kontrabida roles on Filipino television and film, is stepping into the podcast space with “Kontrabida Talks.”
The new show shines a spotlight on performers who have built careers playing villains, giving audiences a chance to see the real personalities behind the famously fierce characters.
In the podcast, Garcia sits down with fellow actors known for portraying antagonists in Filipino shows, opening up conversations about their craft, careers, and real-life stories—often far removed from the characters audiences love to hate.
Behind the villainous roles

Among the guests are Gladys Reyes, Archie Alemania, Sassa Gurl, and viral content creator Boy Iyak. The podcast begins streaming in April.
One episode features Boy Iyak, a Filipino digital artist known for his intentionally humorous and exaggerated caricatures of celebrities and public figures on Facebook. His sketches often go viral, sparking playful banter between the artist and the personalities he draws.
During their episode, Garcia challenges him to draw her portrait. Staying true to her kontrabida persona, she jokingly asks what she should do if she doesn’t like the result.
Boy Iyak gamely replies that she could slap him. Realizing it might hurt, he quickly renegotiates—asking instead for a pingot, the classic Filipino punishment of twisting someone’s ear.
Moments like these capture the playful tone of “Kontrabida Talks,” which promises candid stories, humor, and a peek behind the villain roles that have become staples of Filipino entertainment.
The podcast was introduced during a media gathering organized by RDR Business Solutions Inc., which also marked the launch of RDR Films and RDR Stories. The event, held at TNC Group in Quezon City, highlighted AI-powered storytelling initiatives led by founder Reymond Delos Reyes.

Delos Reyes said their projects aim to show how technology can support creativity. “Maraming content creators ang nagsasabi na ang artificial intelligence ay di kayang gayahin ang ginagawa ng tao. Pero mapapanood ninyo sa RDR Films kung ano ang puwede niyang gayahin,” he said.
“Maaaring hindi niya kayang palitan ang tao, pero maraming bagong categories ang lumalabas at doon kami pumuposisyon.”
Delos Reyes also showcased several trending videos produced under RDR Stories to demonstrate the potential of AI-assisted content creation.
“What I want to show you are the trending videos with regards to RDR Stories,” he said. “Gusto kong ipakita kung ano ang puwedeng magawa ng RDR Solutions in terms of AI and their stories.”
For the team, the initiative is meant to inspire Filipinos—from entrepreneurs to digital creators—to explore how technology can help tell meaningful stories and create new opportunities.
