Mikoy Morales on diving into microdramas through “The Billionaire Swap”

The actor opens up about embracing the fast-paced world of micro-dramas as iWant’s latest thriller gains traction.

Joining the cast of the high-stakes thriller “The Billionaire Swap” was an easy yes for actor Mikoy Morales.

“I’ve been wanting to try micro-dramas for a while now, like the Chinese dramas I see online,” Morales told radar Entertainment in a recent interview. “I’ve been curious how they work—the pace, the attack, the material, and the execution—and this seemed very close to those dramas.”

“The Billionaire Swap” has been streaming exclusively on iWant since November 17. It marks the platform’s fourth micro-drama release, reflecting a growing appetite for short-form, fast-paced, vertical-box storytelling among online viewers.

The series follows the downfall of tech billionaire Joshua Rivera (Jimsen Jison), who is framed by his stepbrother Anton (Billy Jake-Cortez) in a calculated scheme driven by greed—and a hidden obsession with Joshua’s wife, Michelle (Diane Valentin). Wrongfully imprisoned and later presumed dead after a prison fire, Joshua is forced out of his life just as Anton begins to slip into it, eventually earning Michelle’s trust and positioning himself at the center of the Rivera empire.

The narrative abruptly shifts when a man named Daniel Reyes (Morales) emerges, asserting his resurrection as Joshua. His uncanny resemblance sparks suspicion among those closest to the tech mogul.

“Do your research. Check even your sources. Stay vigilant,” Morales said when asked what lesson he hopes viewers will take away from the series.
