PAGCOR rolls out help channel alongside tighter accreditation requirements.
People dealing with gambling-related issues now have round-the-clock access to support, with the launch of a new National Problem Gambling Helpline designed to provide immediate, confidential assistance at any time.
The hotline 02-8248-9568 connects callers to trained counselors offering guidance, emotional support, and referrals through a partnership with Seagulls Flock Organization Inc.
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) unveiled the service on May 26, establishing a dedicated 24/7 channel staffed by 12 para-counselors working in three shifts. The team provides basic emotional first aid, active listening, and structured referral support under crisis protocols, extending assistance not only to players but also to family members affected by gambling-related strain.
PAGCOR also said casino game suppliers must submit documents for accreditation under a new regulatory framework for business-to-business providers by May 31. Companies that fail to comply will be barred from continuing service, while qualified operators will be given until July 31 to complete requirements under an interim grace period.
