Vice Ganda comforts Ryan Bang after Yeng Constantino’s 20th-anniversary concert triggers emotional past memories.
“It’s Showtime” host Ryan Bang found himself overwhelmed with emotion after attending Yeng Constantino’s 20th-anniversary concert over the weekend alongside co-host Vice Ganda.
What was meant to be a night of celebration turned into an emotional trip down memory lane for Ryan, bringing back memories of his early days in the industry and his past romantic pursuit of the singer-songwriter.
During Wednesday’s episode of “It’s Showtime,” Ryan spoke about how watching the concert reignited those feelings and memories.
“Thank you, Mommy, kasi sinama mo ako sa concert ni Yeng,” Ryan told Vice. “Na-flashback sa akin lahat ng memories.”
Ryan described the experience as one of his best moments, particularly highlighting a playful performance Yeng dedicated to him on stage. However, as he continued to reflect, he broke down in tears while recounting how he tried to court Yeng when he had very little to offer.
“Syempre, nung nag-uumpisa ako, wala akong pambayad ng date, wala akong kotse, wala akong pera, paulit-ulit ang damit ko. Pero may chance pala ako sa kanya,” he recalled, before adding, “Makakahanap kaya ako ng gano’n?”
Seeing Ryan tear up, Vice immediately stepped in to comfort him, offering words of reassurance about his future in love.
“Hindi kasi ‘makakahanap,’ ikaw ang hahanapin ng pag-ibig kaya hindi mo kailangan maghanap. Love will find you, just wait,” Vice said. “Don’t cry. I told you, so many people appreciate and value you. Nakikita namin ang kagandahan ng puso mo, ng kapogian ng panlabas mong kaanyuan—lalo na ngayon, ang pogi-pogi mo.”
Long before becoming a staple on “It’s Showtime,” Ryan openly pursued Yeng. Though their courtship did not turn into a romantic relationship, the two have maintained a close friendship over the years. Yeng eventually married musician Yan Asuncion in February 2015, while she and Ryan continue to look back on their past with warmth and fondness.
