Viva Hot Babes credit SexBomb Girls for inspiring October reunion concert

The iconic girl group says its October concert is a celebration of 23 years of friendship, not a competition with SexBomb Girls.

After years of waiting, fans of the iconic Viva Hot Babes are finally getting the reunion they have been hoping for.

The popular girl group is set to return to the stage for a special concert on October 23, 2026, at the New Frontier Theater in Araneta City, Cubao, Quezon City.

The reunion came into focus after Katya Santos shared the official concert poster on social media, confirming that the group is ready to bring back the energy and nostalgia that made them one of the most recognizable girl groups of the early 2000s.

Joining Katya in the much-awaited comeback are Maui Taylor, Andrea del Rosario, Gwen Garci, Sheree, Jaycee Parker, Ella V, and Jennifer Lee.

But beyond bringing their well-loved songs back to the stage, the members said their reunion is also a celebration of the friendship they have maintained through the years.

During their media interview, the Viva Hot Babes addressed comparisons with the SexBomb Girls, another iconic group from the same era that has successfully mounted reunion concerts.

However, the group stressed that they do not see their reunion as a competition. “We don’t see that we need to be compared to (the SexBomb Girls) because one of the reasons we’re actually doing this reunion concert is we were inspired by the SexBomb Girls.”

In fact, the relationship between the two groups remains warm, with the SexBomb Girls reaching out to congratulate them after learning about their upcoming concert.

“The SexBomb girls are actually good friends with everyone, and when they found out that we will have our reunion concert, they actually sent a congratulatory message to the group.”

For the Viva Hot Babes, the upcoming show is not simply about revisiting their past success. They want audiences to experience the bond that has kept them together for more than two decades.

“Our concert will be different in such a way that we want to showcase the celebration of the 23 years of friendship and this is not just an ordinary concert it’s an experience for everyone,” she said.

The group rose to popularity with songs that became staples of the era, including “Bulaklak,” “Kikay,” and “Basketbol,” the carrier track of their 2005 dance album.

Their reunion comes at a time when nostalgia for the entertainment icons of the late 1990s and early 2000s continues to resonate with Filipino audiences. For longtime fans, seeing the Viva Hot Babes together again offers a chance to revisit the music and memories that defined a generation.
