Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji reveal how they maintain their partnership while pursuing individual growth in “Viva One Originals RabGel.”

Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji are proving that growth in a partnership doesn’t always mean being inseparable, it also means evolving on your own while choosing to stay connected.

The onscreen tandem, fondly known as RabGel, opened up about how they continue to grow both as individuals and as a duo, even when working on separate projects with different artists.

For Angela, their secret lies in embracing individuality rather than trying to reshape one another.

She shared that their relationship thrives because they accept each other fully, quirks and all, without imposing expectations.

“Paano nga ba kami naggo-grow individually while we’re always together? I think we grow because we have our own quirks. Hindi namin tina-try baguhin ang isa’t isa. We accept each other for who we are. Si Rabin, I know what kind of person he is, and hindi ko siya binabago based on my standards, and vice versa,” she said.

Angela added that while they learn a lot from each other, they make sure not to lose their individuality in the process. “Marami kami natututunan sa isa’t isa, pero hindi dapat umabot sa point na parang iisang tao na lang kami.”

For Rabin, communication remains the foundation of their growth especially when they’re not physically together.

“Kahit hindi kami magkasama sa isang project, nagsusuportahan kami at nakikinig kami sa isa’t isa. Kung ako ang may mali or siya ang may mali, talagang pinag-uusapan namin,” he explained.

As they prepare to headline the upcoming “Viva One Originals: RabGel” anthology, the pair is set to showcase both their chemistry as a tandem and their strength as individual performers.

The anthology features four episodes: “Ang Rider Kong Hoodlum,” “Same Day Error,” “My CEO Thinks I’m a Robot,” and “Us, Maybe,” allowing them to appear both together and separately.

Angela expressed excitement over the format, noting how it highlights different sides of their artistry.

“In the four episodes, there are two RabGels, and the rest are solo projects. Super na-excite kami kasi after ‘A Werewolf Boy,’ may bago na naman kaming series,” she declared.

For Rabin, the project also became a valuable learning experience, especially as he worked alongside seasoned actors. He cited Jerald Napoles as a standout collaborator in the episode “Same Day Error.”

“Sobrang saya katrabaho si Jerald. Ang dami kong natutunan, lalo na sa comedy,” he shared.

Angela, on the other hand, spoke highly of her experience working with Carlo Aquino in “My CEO Thinks I’m a Robot.”

“Sobrang inspiring makatrabaho si Kuya Carlo. Napaka-generous niyang actor,” she said.

Beyond the kilig and chemistry fans have come to love, the anthology also pushes Rabin into new territory, including his first action role.

“First time ko mag-action sa ‘Ang Rider Kong Hoodlum.’ Parang Robin Padilla ang peg. Sana makatrabaho ko rin siya some day,” Rabin said.

“Ang Rider Kong Hoodlum” premieres on Viva One on May 15. The action-romance follows a motorcycle rider and his passenger who are forced into hiding after witnessing a crime.

“Same Day Error” streams on May 22, delivering chaos and comedy through a wedding videography job gone wrong.

Meanwhile, “My CEO Thinks I’m a Robot,” airing May 29, explores a quirky romance filled with deception and artificial intelligence.

With RabGel, Rabin and Angela are not just offering new stories and genres, they are showing that real growth comes from balancing togetherness with independence, strengthening both their partnership and their individuality.
