Relief for motorists continues, though pump prices remain far above pre-crisis levels.

Fuel prices went down starting 6 AM on Tuesday, June 2, with diesel posting a steep rollback of ₱9.26 per liter.

Gasoline also posted a decrease of ₱4.76 per liter, while kerosene went down by ₱10.86 per liter, based on earlier advisories from oil firms aligned with the Department of Energy’s computation.

After the adjustment took effect, diesel is now averaging around ₱82.50 per liter. Gasoline is at around ₱85.88 per liter, while kerosene is now ranging between ₱100 and ₱110 per liter.

The latest movement marks another round of relief for motorists following weeks of fluctuating global oil prices, with diesel once again logging one of the largest single-product rollbacks in the latest cycle.

However, while fuel prices are moving lower this week, the Philippines remains very much in a fuel crisis, with pump prices still far from pre-tension levels. Before recent global supply concerns driven by tensions in the Middle East, diesel averaged around ₱45 per liter while gasoline was closer to ₱60 per liter.

Even with the latest rollback, current levels remain significantly higher than those earlier averages, underscoring that while prices are easing, they have yet to return to normal conditions for motorists and transport operators.
