GMA Network’s Annette Gozon-Valdes and Viva Music Group’s Vic del Rosario lead a landmark partnership uniting broadcast power and music dominance for Filipino artists.
GMA Network and Viva Music Group are betting big on Original Pilipino Music.
In what could become one of the most significant developments for the local music industry in recent years, the two entertainment giants have signed a 50-50 joint venture that combines Viva’s music empire with GMA’s massive broadcast and digital reach—a partnership that could help propel OPM and Filipino artists to even greater heights.
The landmark alliance will cover a wide range of music-related businesses, including music production, recording, marketing, promotion, distribution, artist management, music publishing, and other related ventures.
The partnership marks the latest chapter in the growing collaboration between GMA Network and Viva Communications, two of the country’s most influential entertainment companies. By combining Viva Music Group’s extensive music catalog, roster of hitmakers, and decades of industry expertise with GMA’s nationwide platforms and talent pool, the venture aims to create more opportunities for Filipino artists while expanding the reach of OPM.
Industry observers see the move as a timely boost for local music as Filipino artists continue to gain traction both locally and internationally, fueled by the rise of streaming platforms and the growing popularity of homegrown acts.
Present during the signing were Viva Group of Companies Chairman and CEO Vicente “Boss Vic” del Rosario Jr., GMA Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes, Vicor Music President and COO Antonio M. Ocampo, Sparkle GMA Artist Center First Vice President Joy Marcelo, Viva Records President Verb del Rosario, and Sparkle Talent Management Assistant Vice President Tracy Garcia.
Also in attendance were Viva Communications CEO Vincent del Rosario and President Valerie del Rosario.
Several Sparkle artists likewise showed support for the venture, including Princess Alijah, Vianna Ricafranca, P-pop group Dollipop, Jeff Moses, Anthony Rosaldo, and Ysabel Ortega.
With two entertainment powerhouses pooling their resources, talent networks, and promotional platforms, the partnership signals a stronger push to develop new artists, create more music content, and ensure that OPM reaches bigger audiences in the Philippines and beyond.
