Ian, Matet de Leon appear to mend ties amid inheritance issue

Ian and Matet de Leon spark reconciliation buzz after “wonderful conversation” amid inheritance controversy.

It appears that the inheritance issue between Ian de Leon and his adopted sister, Matet de Leon, may be taking a positive turn after the two recently had a peaceful conversation.

The update came after the biological son of the late National Artist Nora Aunor shared on social media that he and Matet had a “wonderful conversation.”

“Thank you so much for the wonderful conversation! God bless us and our family,” Ian wrote on Facebook, tagging his sister and adding smiling face and heart emojis.

Prior to Ian’s post, Matet shared a family photo on Facebook featuring their late mother, captioned, “We miss you, Ma,” followed by a heart emoji.

The siblings’ dispute drew public attention after Ian assumed responsibility for managing Nora Aunor’s estate following her passing on April 16, 2025.

He later established Nora Aunor Enterprise, a One-Person Corporation, as well as the Nora Aunor Foundation to protect her intellectual property, preserve her memorabilia, and eventually build a museum dedicated to her life and legacy.

The controversy intensified after their eldest sister, Lotlot De Leon, became emotional while addressing the issue.

Lotlot stressed that neither she nor her siblings was fighting over any portion of the Superstar’s estate.

“Again, sa kanya na lahat. Wala akong hinihingi, wala kaming hinihingi. Wala akong inaagaw. Walang inaagaw si Matet.”

She added that the greatest inheritance she received from Nora Aunor was not material wealth, but the privilege of being raised by one of the country’s most celebrated artists.

“He can have it all because, for me, it is enough that I was able to call Nora Aunor my mom. It is enough that I was raised by a superstar, that she gave me the name ‘Mommy.’”
