Filipinos planning to visit South Korea later this year will have to set aside a little more for their visa application.
The Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC) announced that it will increase its visa processing fee from ₱900 to ₱1,000, effective Aug. 25.
The new processing fee will apply to all visa applications submitted on or after the effective date, regardless of the applicant’s intended travel date.
Applications filed before Aug. 25 will continue to be charged the current ₱900 processing fee.
KVAC advised applicants to take note of the fee adjustment when preparing their visa applications and travel budgets.
The visa processing fee is collected by KVAC for handling visa applications and is separate from any applicable visa fees charged by the South Korean government.
South Korea remains one of the most popular international destinations for Filipino travelers, with tourists flocking to the country for its food, shopping, cultural attractions, K-pop, and K-drama filming locations. Those planning trips later this year are encouraged to factor the updated processing fee into their travel expenses.
