Baus Rufo backs Joy Barcoma’s ‘Dogshow Divas’ exit, explains Macoy Dubs’ absence

“I think nakita naman ng mga tao no’ng nagsama-sama kaming tatlo na sa lakas ng tawa namin, sa lakas ng tulakan namin may malalaglag (on seats),” Baus recalled.

He admitted that he had only met Joy for the first time when she joined them on the podcast, but their personalities immediately clicked.

“Definitely, kami ni Macoy, it was our first time meeting her when she came to the show, and it was like a very colorful typhoon na ang saya-saya lang namin. Definitely, that was the highlight of my year kahit na noong February lang ito nangyari,” he shared.

Baus also addressed why Macoy has not been as visible on the podcast, pointing to the actor’s demanding schedule for his TV5 series “The Good Doctor.”

“If you listened to the podcast, we have been very vocal about it and si Macoy mismo, he has been filming ‘The Good Doctor’ sa TV5,” he said.

“So I think iyong teleserye is a very demanding job. Pangarap namin ni Macoy na lumabas sa TV, definitely, iyon ang rason kung bakit wala siya,” he added.

Despite the changes in the lineup, Baus stressed that “Dogshow Divas” remains an important project for them, describing the podcast as a platform that could open doors to bigger opportunities.

“Napaka-importante ng ‘The Dogshow Divas’ sa amin kasi parang calling card namin siya mga project and sa mga networks, so it’s very much high priority for us,” he said.

Meanwhile, Baus is entering another chapter in his career as part of GTV’s newest weekly entertainment program, “Kalurks!,” alongside DJ Jhai Ho and Ashley Rivera.

With the show bringing together three different personalities to tackle the week’s hottest trends, issues and viral moments, Baus was also asked about the possibility of having Joy and Macoy together again for a future crossover.

His answer was an enthusiastic yes.

“Yes, siyempre lalaban tayo diyan, papasok tayo diyan. Lalaban tayo and malamang nasa plano na po iyan. Inunahan mo lang ako, I announce,” he happily shared.

Baus joins DJ JhaiHo and Ashley Rivera as hosts of GTV’s newest weekly entertainment show, “Kalurks!” Premiering September 13, it airs every Sunday from 8:30 PM to 9:15 PM on GTV, with episodes also available on GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Network’s official website.
