SB19’s ‘EMOJI’ with Jolin Tsai shortlisted for 2026 Weibo Music Awards

P-pop icons compete in China’s major music space as official voting runs until September 13.

The P-pop group’s collaboration with Taiwanese pop icon Jolin Tsai has been shortlisted for the 2026 Weibo Music Awards (WMA) under its Annual Recommended Songs category, Chinese-language division. 

The official WMA account confirmed the inclusion, describing the track as “a cross-border meeting of pop and P-pop.”

Released in March, “EMOJI” is now competing in a music ecosystem where Weibo’s audience, digital engagement, and Chinese-market reach matter heavily. The nomination puts SB19’s music directly into one of China’s biggest social-media-driven music conversations.

And that is what makes the nod bigger than another entry on an awards list.

For P-pop, getting recognized on a major Chinese platform means entering a market with its own digital culture and audience—not simply chasing the same international spaces where Filipino acts are already familiar.

The track has reportedly passed 11 million views on Weibo, adding another layer to its growing reception in the Chinese-speaking market. 

Voting began September 1 and runs until September 13, with the results scheduled for September 17, according to fan-tracking posts surrounding the nomination. 

A’TIN are already celebrating the milestone, with one fan joking, “That’s the impact! Kings of P-pop incoming! Sa atin ang West Philippine Sea pati ‘yang award na ‘yan!” 

For SB19, “EMOJI” is no longer just a collaboration. It is P-pop knocking on a much bigger door, and this time, China is listening.
