Alden Richards says he takes pride in being a good person amid online allegations

The actor emotionally defends his character while honoring unsung heroes at a recent event.

Actor Alden Richards emphasized the importance of personal integrity, staying true to one’s values, and doing good without expecting anything in return in an emotional message delivered amid online allegations made against him by Xian Gaza.

During the recent “Hero for All” ceremony, where he led the recognition of 20 unsung heroes, Richards reflected on one of his greatest sources of pride: knowing that he is a good person.

“There’s one thing I’m proud of, kahit sabihin n’yo nang mayabang ako, pero alam ko at the end of the day I am a good person,” Richards said in his closing remarks, becoming visibly emotional as he addressed the audience.

He stressed that a person’s character is worth taking pride in, regardless of how others may perceive them.

“And no one can take that away. And I’m sure gusto ko gano’n din ang maging mindset natin, na you can be proud to tell the world na you are a good person,” he added.

Richards also shared his belief that kindness should be practiced sincerely, without expecting anything in return.

“In our lifetime, in our daily lives, I do believe that we always get what we deserve, good or bad,” he said.

“Do good without expectations of returning to you, kasi one way or another, it will find its way back to you,” he continued.

He likewise reminded the audience that actions have consequences, whether good or bad.

“You do bad, and you know what will happen,” Richards said.

His remarks come as Gaza’s allegations against the actor circulate online. In a recent Facebook post, Gaza claimed that Richards had yet to return a condominium unit allegedly lent to him by a wealthy couple during the pandemic. He also alleged that the actor had not returned six luxury watches supposedly borrowed from the same couple.

The claims have drawn reactions from Richards’ supporters, some of whom have questioned their credibility.

Richards did not directly address the allegations in his speech. Instead, he focused on character, accountability, and doing what is right without expecting recognition or a reward.
