Godfather Shoes lets you fully customize your footwear made to last for years.

In Marikina, shoemaking is more than an industry. It is a local inheritance—passed from one generation of artisans to the next, shaped by hand and measured against the standards of people who know that a good shoe is meant to last.

Godfather Shoes is building its identity around that tradition while giving it a distinctly modern form.

Founded in 2016 by entrepreneur Aaron Angeles, the premium homegrown brand was created to preserve Marikina’s shoemaking legacy, modernize the customer experience and provide fair, sustainable wages for local artisanal cobblers. Its approach is neither mass-market nor entirely old-fashioned. Instead, Godfather Shoes occupies the space between ready-to-wear and fully bespoke: a semi-bespoke model that allows customers to participate in the making of their pair.

The result is footwear that feels personal before it is even worn.

The Marikina standard

Marikina has long been recognized as the footwear capital of the Philippines, and Godfather Shoes treats that reputation as a responsibility rather than a marketing line.

Its shoes are made through a strict, multi-step artisanal process, with attention paid to construction, finishing and fit. Each pair is designed to be maintained, repaired and worn for years.

Customization as the main event

Rather than limiting customers to standard sizes and predetermined colorways, Godfather Shoes allows them to select the leather length and width, preferred leather color, sole style and midsole thickness.

These choices affect comfort, formality, weight and durability. Customers are not merely choosing a shoe from a shelf; they are helping define how it will look, fit and function.

Names or initials can also be laser-engraved onto the underside of the soles and the brand’s signature wooden storage boxes, giving each pair a private identity.

From grooms to professionals

Godfather Shoes initially built its reputation as a premium dress-shoe brand for gentlemen, particularly among grooms, lawyers, executives and professionals. It has since expanded with Hers by Godfather, a dedicated line of women’s oxfords and leather shoes.

A lifelong maintenance promise

The brand offers a lifetime maintenance service guarantee for its artisanal pairs, reinforcing its argument for buying fewer, better-made shoes. Soles wear down and finishes need attention, but regular maintenance can keep leather footwear presentable for years.

The showroom is by appointment

The main showroom is at 4 Dahlia St., second floor, Barangay Malanday, Marikina City. Visits are by appointment, allowing time for consultation, measurement and material selection.

For customers outside Marikina, the brand holds trunk shows and fitting events in cities including Makati, Parañaque and Pampanga.

In an era of disposable fashion, Godfather Shoes makes a different proposition: choose the leather, adjust the width, decide on the sole, add your initials and keep wearing the pair long after the occasion that called for it.

The shoe may be made in Marikina.

But the final version is yours.
