The actor opens up on “Eat Bulaga!” about his goal to become a neurologist for his mom.

Actor Rabin Angeles opened up about one of the earliest losses that shaped his life during a recent episode of “Eat Bulaga!”

Rabin recalled that his father, an Overseas Filipino Worker in Saudi Arabia, had only just returned home when tragedy struck.

“‘Yong daddy ko po, nawala siya noong four years old ako… Same na araw po ‘yun, doon po siya nawala. Same araw ng uwi niya,” he shared.

His father died from a brain aneurysm when Rabin was four. After the loss, Rabin and his brothers were raised by their mother, who had once dreamed of becoming a doctor but pursued nursing instead.

That family history became part of Rabin’s own ambition.

“So bata pa lang ako, sabi ko, ‘Ma, ako na tatapos,’” he recalled, referring to his desire to finish what his mother had started.

Rabin has since dreamed of becoming a neurologist—a career that would allow him to follow his mother’s path in medicine while giving back to the woman who raised their family alone.

During a previous interview, Rabin shared that, “Sinasama ako ni Mommy noon sa operating room kaya nakikita ko ginagawa niya. Kaya nahilig din ako sa ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’”

For Rabin, ambition was never simply about making it in showbiz. Behind the actor’s growing career is a childhood promise, to carry the dreams his mother had to set aside and make sure her sacrifices meant something.
